Wed & Breakfast™
The O’Connell House best accommodates micro-weddings, and our resident Justice of the Peace, Brian, is happy to perform your ceremony right here in the house or on the front porch.
Afterwards, celebrate in style and host your reception here! You may separately contract a food and beverage caterer and music of your choice. We can provide tables, seating and dishware.
If you wish to add to the experience of your special day, you, your new spouse and ten of your closest loved ones can arrange to spend the night in our guest rooms and enjoy a signature breakfast the next morning to put an exclamation point on your celebration!

Our home caters perfectly to those celebrating intimate weddings and receptions, rehearsal dinners, anniversary parties, reunions, bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, and bachelor/ette weekends. We can also accommodate corporate events or retreats, and we’d love to serve as the backdrop for your styled film or photo shoot.
The Dining Room, Drawing Room and warp around front porch make for perfect settings to entertain. In fact, the baby grand piano in the Drawing Room provides a lovely opportunity for live music to accompany your celebration!
Our large chef’s kitchen can accommodate contracted caterers and offers plenty of prep and cooking space. Complimentary parking is available on-site, as well as nearby free street parking.

“We rented all four bedrooms for a wedding party as several bridesmaids and groomsmen traveled from out of state for the weekend and we are thrilled with our experience! The house is located right in the center of Colchester with easy access to state roads, fine and casual dining and a supermarket all within walking distance. Each of the four bedrooms had a private bath and there was plenty of off street parking. There was even a local farmers market right out front on Sunday morning! The house is spectacular and fully decorated with antiques and New England touches. Brian and Jean were impeccable hosts. They left the bride and bridesmaids a bottle of champagne and a dozen roses with a note congratulating them and providing history and background for the house and each bedroom. They made a delicious breakfast both days and were available for our questions when we had them. We had an unforgettable time and would highly recommend for any occasion.”
