Our Dining Room, Drawing Room and warp around front porch make perfect settings to entertain. The baby grand piano in the Drawing Room provides a lovely opportunity for live music to accompany your event!
You may separately contract food and beverage caterers, as our large chef’s kitchen offers ample prep and cooking space, and our coffee bar doubles as a service bar. We can provide tables, seating and dishware. Limited complimentary parking is available on-site with additional free public parking nearby.
Our home is an ideal venue for intimate receptions, parties and bachelor/ette weekends. We can also accommodate small corporate events and meetings, and we’d love to serve as the backdrop for your styled film or photo shoot.
If you’re getting married in the area, our main floor and guest rooms make The O’Connell House the perfect central place for a wedding party to get ready and spend the night. Enjoy our signature complimentary breakfast the next morning to put an exclamation point on your celebration!

“We rented all four bedrooms for a wedding party as several bridesmaids and groomsmen traveled from out of state for the weekend and we are thrilled with our experience! The house is located right in the center of Colchester with easy access to state roads, fine and casual dining and a supermarket all within walking distance. Each of the four bedrooms had a private bath and there was plenty of off street parking. There was even a local farmers market right out front on Sunday morning! The house is spectacular and fully decorated with antiques and New England touches. Brian and Jean were impeccable hosts. They left the bride and bridesmaids a bottle of champagne and a dozen roses with a note congratulating them and providing history and background for the house and each bedroom. They made a delicious breakfast both days and were available for our questions when we had them. We had an unforgettable time and would highly recommend for any occasion.”
